Overview

Our role was to create a structured naming system and a visual identity that would position Blythe & Vale alongside some of the leading fragrance houses globally
Blythe & Vale is a London-based fragrance house, founded in 2024 and rooted in the tradition of British perfumery. The launch introduced three core products: No. 1, the signature intense fragrance; Morning, a lighter eau de toilette; and Velvet Crème, a refined hand cream designed to complement the range.

The Challenge

The challenge was to ensure the naming and visual systems convey refinement and permanence. Luxury fragrance naming often falls into two extremes: overly poetic descriptions or purely technical classifications. Our task was to find a middle ground, names that feel evocative, but also structured and disciplined.

The Solution

The typographic system combines a refined serif typeface with a modern editorial sans-serif. The serif communicates heritage and permanence, while the sans-serif introduces contemporary clarity.
